March Fun ('13 Edition)

Here are some of the adventures we had in March.

Chicken with Bacon Couscous.

Kramer got a new bed and a new dog toy since the beginning of the year. She is attached to both of them.

General Tso's Chicken.

Drew had some quality face time with our youngest niece.

Kramer had another hat experience at the hands of Drew. This time, more festive!
The joys of life in Nebraska. Tulip bulbs popping up out of the ground and melting snow all around them. Come on tulips, you can make it!

My Town

Here are just some recent snapshots of my town. I really do enjoy living here, but that wasn't always the case. I went to high school and college here and really felt the urge to get away. So I did. For 6 years. And then I came back with a new appreciation for my hometown.

There is a beautiful park in the middle of town that is maintained with the help of volunteer efforts. It's simply amazing. Also, seeing it all blooming like this gets me super excited for spring!

Lily pads in the park.

A shot of the pavilion in the park.
There is a great organization called Jacob's Well making a huge difference in an impoverished neighborhood downtown. We are privileged to work with many of the most loving, caring, and selfless people we've ever met. Here Drew is helping some of the kids climb an inflatable obstacle course at a block party last summer.

Football in this town is amazing. Seriously. You can't grow up here and not become a fan. We enjoy all things Husker around here. This is a picture from the Wisconsin game in 2012 after we scored our first points.

We've got great friends all over town and fun things to do. Here's a backyard fire pit from last fall.

Sugar, Ah Honey Honey

So I spoke too soon with my previous post. After almost a week off of those pills, I had to take them again this week. I caught a cold and I'm not sure if the two events are related, but the cold is getting better so we're going to try going no pills again.

Glucola before I downed that mother.
Also, this just in. I dominated the glucose test. Well, I suppose I don't know for sure if that is factual information. I passed. The degree to which I rocked the test remains a mystery.

And after. I had heard it was gross. It wasn't so bad. Like a flat orange crush soda.
And after those results, we got to see our nugget again! It was sleeping peacefully with its little hand up by its face. Also, I've decided that these images are kind of like some sort of abstract art. It's a baby, but so fuzzy and full of shadows. Whatever, it's ours and we love the little guy or gal!

Nugget! Still too early to tell whether it looks more like Drew or me.

High Five!

Today is the fifth day I have not taken any anti-nausea meds for the nugget. This comes after 107 days with the meds to ensure I wouldn't be huddled over the dreaded white bowl for the entire day. Hoo. Ray.

Seriously, I am so excited.

High Five! (With a cougar?!)
